It’s just after 9 p.m. on Mother’s Day, 2019. I am visioning my mother, just right now, untying her favourite apron — the orange one with white polkadots — to sit down in her favorite chair in the living room. Mom never liked to go out for dinner on Mother’s Day. She got more out of cooking a huge meal, and asking all three kids over. And, she would ask US what WE wanted for dinner. Unselfish. Mom’s been gone 11 years now but I think of her every day, and especially Mother’s Day … and, remind myself how lucky I am to call her Mom..
