NOVEMBER 30 – Edmonton Sun
For all the encouraging smiles long before the diagnosis comes, for all the times you have pulled the blankets up to my shoulders in a bed in an emergency room, and for all the times you checked in to see if I need anything, if you’re an Alberta nurse, please: Take my hand.
You have been there so many times for me — now, I am here for you. Not only as a journalist who is blessed with the opportunity to be able to share my opinion publicly, but as an Albertan who is, frankly, scared.
The communications machine of the provincial government has a shady tradition of releasing news that could be seen in a negative light on Fridays. Chalk it up to wishful thinking, I guess, in that they think Albertans are so fixated on their weekend plans that checking for prevalent news stories isn’t a priority.
Have a good weekend, Premier Kenney.
