Support Edmonton’s Food Bank at Local Holiday Events
Edmonton, AB. – Edmonton’s Food Bank is able to provide services into 2020 thanks to the food and funds generously donated by the community during the Festive Campaign. Serving over 22,000 people a month through our hamper programs and providing nearly 500,000 meals and snacks every month is only possible because of our donors.
Here are just a few upcoming holiday events that support Edmonton’s Food Bank. We appreciate your help in promoting them.
Loblaw National Food Drive – Through December 24
All Edmonton Superstore & No Frills
Make a monetary or non-perishable food donation for those in need, while you shop for your own groceries.
AMA Fill our Fleet – Through December 29
Donate at all AMA locations in Edmonton to help fill AMA vehicles with food.
Sobeys Joy of Giving Campaign – December 7
Head to any Sobeys, Safeway, or IGA to give a wonderful gift of food or money, in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank, this holiday season.
Shaker’s Rock for Food – December 8
3 pm – 9 pm
Shakers Roadhouse, 15004 Yellowhead Tr.
Enjoy an evening of live music and great food in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank. Entry by donation.
Turkeys on the Trail – December 14
8 am start, Rundle Park
This is a charity fun run where the fees are donations of food (frozen turkeys) or funds for Edmonton’s Food Bank. Register at https://www.turkeysonthetrailyeg.com/.

Greater Edmonton Alliance Hosts Action Assembly
December 2, 2019
At the upcoming action assembly, delegates from the Greater Edmonton Alliance’s (GEA) twenty institutional members, along with the hundreds of the thousands of citizens they represent, will be inviting the committed partnership of elected officials on actions around living wages, community benefit agreements, sustainable procurement policies, psychological safety in the workplace, and mental health supports.
GEA is a coalition of faith, labor, health, education and community organizations dedicated to building leadership capacity amongst everyday citizens in order to advance the common good in Edmonton.
